Eventually I got to the stage where I didn't want to go to work anymore and resigned. What should I say in an interview if I'm asked my reasons for leaving without another job to go to. Should I be honest?

Use a Qualifications Summary to Change Careers
If you're changing careers, consider using a combination CV, which is a reverse chronological CV that leads with a qualifications summary. You can use your Monster CV's Objective section for this purpose. The summary will allow you to emphasise your most related credentials so hiring managers can see you are qualified for your new goal. Also include a specific career goal so employers don't assume you want to stay in your current field.
